Collins Aerospace of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, has been an enduring sponsor of our Amelia Earhart project. The company has supported personnel to sail with the expeditions and follow up with school lectures and teacher workshops. Also, Collins Aerospace has supported analytical efforts connected with radio signal and navigation analysis, and provided communications support for our missions. All is part of the company’s on-going promotion of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) education in the local schools
The U.S. Navy has provided support to SeaWord-Nauticos expeditions though cooperative research agreements, including sharing time on Naval Oceanographic Office research vessels, leasing of oceanographic equipment, and providing personnel at sea for meteorological support. The U.S. Coast Guard has also helped facilitate our safe operations in the open seas.
A number of companies have provided in-kind support to SeaWord through the contribution of equipment used in our at-sea operations. First among them has been Kongsberg-Simrad, which has provided vital sonar systems for our vehicles. Others who have helped include: Rochester Cable (cable systems); Prizm (electronics); Klein Sonar (sonar processing systems); and Earthship Productions (underwater lighting systems).
With your help, SeaWord can sponsor a teacher or student on the next mission.
